Microsoft Edge runs on the Chromium engine, just like other major browsers, which means a correct WebMCP implementation for Chromium generally works in Edge as well. The situation is different for Copilot-type assistants: at the time of writing, Microsoft has not published an official specification through which Copilot consumes WebMCP data in a guaranteed, publicly documented way. For this reason, we draw a clear line between what we can technically verify today and what remains a likely direction of future development.

The most solid part of this service is verifying technical compatibility with the Chromium engine, which powers Edge as well as other browsers frequently used across the Microsoft ecosystem, for example in corporate environments with strict security policies. Here we can offer real certainty, because we test the implementation under concrete conditions, not assumptions. We check how WebMCP markup behaves in Edge, whether security policies specific to Windows environments block or allow script access, and whether the data structure remains valid regardless of browser particularities.
Access for Microsoft's robots to your content
Microsoft operates its own indexing and crawling robots, used both for Bing and for other internal services, including those that feed Copilot-type functions. We review your robots.txt file and access rules to ensure these robots are not accidentally blocked and that they can reach the structured data exposed through WebMCP. It is important to note that we cannot control, nor guarantee, how Microsoft internally decides to use this data once it is accessible. What we can guarantee is that, on your end, there are no unnecessary technical barriers.
Consistency of data exposed through WebMCP
An often overlooked aspect is the consistency between what a page displays to a human visitor and what is exposed, through WebMCP markup, to an automated agent. If prices, stock levels or descriptions differ between the two layers, an agent risks acting on outdated or incorrect information, which can affect user trust and your reputation. We check this synchronization at the moment of the audit, but long-term consistency depends on your team's internal processes for updating both data layers simultaneously.
